The third edition of the Firefighter Stair Climb will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024. The stair climb at the WTC in Almere is in memory of the victims of the 2001 attack in New York, where many innocent people and brave first responders lost their lives. This event also raises money for a good cause: Stichting Ambulance Wens Nederland. Pegasus Pipes & Drums will provide the musical accompaniment for the commemoration and the event.

The format of the WTC stair climb is well known. On Sunday, September 15, firefighters will take on the athletic challenge of climbing 30 floors and 600 steps in their firefighting gear and using breathing apparatus. Employees of the police, ambulance services, and Defense may also participate in their work uniforms.

This year, the Firefighter Stair Climb will not have any competitive elements. This year, it’s all about the experience.
